PAPL Site – April 2018
Syrinx recently completed the successful design and construction of Perth Airport’s (PAPL) Living Stream project.
The site, situated between Tonkin Highway to the West and Dunreath Drive – which is adjacent to the Perth Airport’s developing commercial infrastructure, was in a precarious state. The watercourse had significantly eroded its banks on both sides and along its entire length, with damage additional occurring to the site’s northern headwall, resulting in parts breaking away entirely. Previous efforts to treat the erosion had been unsuccessful, hence the need for our skills and expertise.
The newly constructed Living Stream is now supporting a stable and vegetated landscape. It is capable of channeling and disposing of all stormwater runoff, with no adverse erosion or degradation to the channel itself, or its inlet and outlet structures.
We look forward to its continued growth and ongoing sustainable function. It was a challenging project, though highly rewarding in its outcome!
